Police Officer / Reserve Officer Positions
The City of Lake Ozark is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer and/or Reserve Police Officers. Associates Degree preferred but not required. Ability to practice Law Enforcement duties with a Class A License as required by Missouri P.O.S.T. program. 21 years of age, valid driver's license without record of suspension or revocation in any state. Felony convictions and disqualifying criminal histories not permitted. The successful applicants will be subject to a detailed background investigation to include a Truth Verification Screening. U.S. citizen and ability to read & write the English language fluently is required. The City of Lake Ozark is a diverse community with an extreme change of population from the winter season to the activity filled summer season. Community Policing skills are a must as this is a vacation destination for many families, groups etc. Reserve Police Officers require the same qualification standards as full time but are not paid and must work at least 20 hours per month. In return, the city will assist the Reserve Officers with training and professional development. Police Officers work a 10 hour shift with four days on and three days off. Holidays, weekends and shift work required. The city offers a standard benefits package to include, medical, dental, vision, vacation and paid sick days. Uniforms and Equipment provided by the city with an annual starting salary approximately $27,072 - $36,570 depending on background, training and experience. The City of Lake Ozark is accepting applications for the position of Police Communications Specialist (Dispatcher). Successful applicants will work in a fast paced, stressful work environment that is very demanding and must be able to maintain focus despite many interuptions. Dispatchers work under the supervision of a Communications Supervisor and the Chief of Police. Salary ranges from $22,256 - $29,207 depending on qualifications and experience. Minimun Training and Experience includes High School diploma or equivalent, previous dispatching experience preferred, ability to communicate clearly and effectively via radio, must type at least 30 words per minute. Rapid data entry and memorization of job specific codes will be required. Holidays, weekends and shiftwork required. Associates degree preferred but not required. The successful applicants will be subject to a detailed background investigation to include a Truth Verification Screening.
